Medina Park District Upgrades to CWT
The Medina Park District has decided to go with Total Parking to upgrade their system. Starting next week, their parking meter will be replaced with a Cale Web Terminal, featuring much more capability and user-friendliness, while promoting options for contactless payment.
Machine Added to Glencoe Metra Station
Starting this year, Glencoe will use a CWT machine at their local Metra station. The installation at this station will create an easier transition from the car to the train for commuters of any type. The use of a pay-by-plate system will eliminate any need to go back to one’s vehicle, while the AC power source and internal heater will keep the machine running at full speed under any conditions.
Lake Geneva Welcomes Pay Station Upgrade
Starting in May, the city of Lake Geneva decided to upgrade their pay stations from pay-by-space to pay-by-plate. Total Parking Solutions has installed 50 of the newest CWT Stealth models which are sure to aid in the simplicity of parking among downtown shoppers, beach-goers, and everyone in between. As the shops and beach begin to open back up, both public workers and citizens are pleased with the improvement as they promote efficiency and user-friendliness in an active area.
Two Pay Stations Added in Benton Harbor
Benton Harbor, MI has received installation of two new CWT pay stations. These will include options for both daily rate and season passes, providing two choices for any type of traveler. The machines will use a License Plate Recognition (LPR) system provided by TPS to utilize a pay-by-plate method for the beach parking lot.
Forest Park Receives Installation of New Machines
To kick off the new year, Forest Park has ordered the installation 34 CWT Stealth pay stations from TPS. Since January, implementing paid parking with these machines has created an increase in parking turnover in their downtown region, which has proven to be beneficial for business owners, public works employees, commuters and townspeople. The pay-by-plate method creates a more organized system for parking enforcement that is proven to decrease the amount of disputed tickets while increasing curbside parking space utilization.
Evanston Continues To Add More Machines for Hospital, Residential Areas
In addition to the considerable amount of machines throughout Evanston, more continue to be added over the months to other areas which include more downtown streets/lots, residential apartment complexes, and one of their major healthcare facilities. Providing more machines in more areas and facilities will promote uniformity of the parking system as a whole city. With these CWT machines, the city parking employees enjoy the simplicity of collection and enforcement throughout nearly all the streets and parking lots.
Villa Park Orders Upgrade
In the month of June, the village of Villa Park has ordered to upgrade their MPC machine models to CWT machines. The implementation of a pay-by-plate system and phone application for payment will make parking easier and more consistent for users and provide more comprehensive data for the parking space usage. License Plate Recognition (LPR), which will be provided by an outside vendor, always makes enforcement more manageable and efficient.
Will County Makes Decision for New Machines
By the end of June, Will County will have switched to a fully automated parking system, rather than the system currently in place with a physical agent to collect parking payments. With Chicago Street now being a through-street, this upgraded system will give the employee more time to focus on other tasks, reduce chance of errors, and make parking quicker and easier for users.
